A Thursday at home.

Thursday is here and we have great news. We now have our internet!
This only took us around three weeks to achieve so we’d say it was a win. Below is a picture we snuck of the internet being installed.

The overall process was very quick and we are extremely happy to have it now. Of course in true Guyana fashion there are a few setbacks. These being that on a cloudy day the internet can cut out and as well if the main gtt experiences problems we can lose the internet at the most for around 5 hours. But these worries seem to fade away when you look to the table and see the router blinking its little light. A beacon, as though to say in a familiar American way, ‘You have internet.’
For today's post we thought we would share with you how our home is coming along. There is still plenty of work that needs to be done however we have some highlights we thought we would share.
Our home.

The fence surrounding it is a new addition that is affectionately known as ‘The Border’. It is great for added privacy as well as keeping the neighbors sheep out of our trash.
Here are a few other pictures from around the house.

Our kitchen is a temporary thing here upstairs and mainly consist of a fridge and propane stove. Our goal is to be able to clean out downstairs and use the outdoor kitchen as our permanent setting. Of course, that is easier said than done.

A newer addition to our home is this comfortable sitting area by the window. On the wall we each have a place to put our backpacks.

To watch movies in the evening we have a projector that works with a screen we made on the wall. During the day we hang it up so that it doesn't bother anyone or block windows.

Here is a closet that we had our neighbor help make for us. There was a lack of storage in the house when we got here and although it can still be a struggle, having somewhere to hang your clothes is a huge help.

Our view from outside of the house.

Another view with far less jungle.
We can't wait to share more of our home with you as we continue to get more done.
Hoping you all have a wonderful weekend.
Tori, Laura, Jillian, and Emily.
